Great Muta vs. Lee Scott
on April 29th, 1989

Event: NWA World Championship Wrestling
Location: Atlanta, GA
Attendance: Unknown

They circle each other to start, side headlock takedown by Muta, Scott Irish whips out of it but Muta shoulderblocks him down. Muta goes off the ropes and nails a back kick, and he throws Scott out of the ring. Pescado by Muta and he shoots mist around up on the apron. Muta throws Scott back into the ring, goes up on the top turnbuckle and delivers a missile dropkick. Muta applies the nerve hold to Scott's shoulder, rib breaker, and he nails the moonsault. Cover, and he picks up the three count. Your winner: Great Muta

Match Thoughts: One of the interesting things watching these early Muta matches is that at first he was a lot like Kabuki in that he mist was mostly for show, not a weapon. Sure, he sprayed it in their faces but in this match he did it only as a way of showing off. Anyway the nerve hold was completely unnecessary and was just killing time, he already had the match won and wasting 20 seconds on a meaningless submission hold that he doesn't win matches with seemed silly. Still fun seeing early Muta as he was still molding the image, but not as fun as the last couple due to the down time. Score: 4.5
