Great Mota vs. Mike Justice
on March 26th, 1989

Event: WCW Main Event
Location: Unknown
Attendance:  Unknown

Mota goes for a spinning kick to start the match but Justice gets out of the way. Mota exits the ring to talk things over with Gary Hart, but after a moment gets back into the ring. Tie-up, full nelson by Mota, but Justice reverses it into an arm wringer. Mota flips out of it and hits a single leg onto Justice as he begins working over Justice's leg. Mota twists Justice's leg a few times and then jumps down on it while it is propped on the second rope. Mota goes off the ropes and chops Justice in the back of the head. Another chop by Mota, Justice tries to fight back, but a karate kick sends Justice back to the mat. Mota applies a standing ankle lock before putting his fingers in his mouth and raking Justice in the eyes. Eye rake by Mota and he bites Justice in the head. Mota slams Justice's head into his knee, rib breaker, he goes up to the top turnbuckle and nails the moonsault. Cover, and he picks up the three count. Your winner: Great Mota

Match Thoughts: This was a fun little squash. This was the first time that Muta did the moonsault on American TV, which was called a "360 into a slam" by the commentators. Muta was more vicious here than he became later, but this was still as his character was being formed... they probably tamed that up a bit as he got popular with the crowd in the summer. Enjoyable quick match by Muta, but obviously lacking serious substance. Score: 6.0
